Tagaytay has always been our go-to when we’re craving cool weather, fresh air, and a satisfying food trip. So one evening, while looking for a good restaurant for dinner, we decided to try somewhere different. We’ve dined in many popular spots in Tagaytay before, but this time we wanted something that felt new — something worth the drive and the appetite.

That’s how we ended up at Reynaldo’s Smoke House.

From the outside, it already looked promising. Once inside, the interiors immediately stood out. The space is cozy yet spacious, with rustic details and greenery thoughtfully incorporated into the design. It has that relaxed, welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay longer — and yes, it’s very Instagram-worthy without trying too hard.

Another major plus? Parking. If you frequent Tagaytay, you know how rare convenient parking can be. Thankfully, they have a spacious lot, making it ideal for dinner crowds and even big groups. The staff were also warm, attentive, and professional — service that sets the tone for a great meal.

Since we came in hungry and curious, we based our orders on their bestsellers and some recommendations from their Facebook page. We started with the House-Smoked Wagyu Salad and Smokehouse Signature Nachos, paired with their House Blend Iced Tea and Calamansi Basil. Both drinks were refreshing, but the Calamansi Basil really stood out. It’s not your typical calamansi juice — the basil adds a fragrant twist that makes it uniquely refreshing. It was light, balanced, and something I’d gladly order again.

For the mains, we couldn’t resist their Signature Smoked Pepper Rub Brisket. Slow-cooked for over 12 hours, it was incredibly tender and flavorful. The meat was juicy, well-seasoned, and truly melt-in-your-mouth. It’s the kind of dish that makes everyone at the table pause and say, “Okay, this is good.” And it really was.

You can choose between soup, mashed potatoes, or rice pilaf for your side. We opted for the mashed potatoes, which were fluffy and light — the perfect partner to the rich smoked meats.

I also tried their Southern Fried Chicken Ala King. Crispy fried chicken topped with torched mozzarella cheese — indulgent and comforting. It leaned slightly on the salty side, likely because of the cheese, but paired beautifully with the mashed potatoes or rice.

One dish we were curious about was the Wagyu Pares with Roasted Bone Marrow. I’ll admit, I’m not usually a bone marrow fan, but I love Wagyu — so we gave it a shot. It turned out to be one of the highlights of the night. The Wagyu was buttery and tender, delicious on its own and even better with the thick, flavorful pares sauce. The bone marrow added richness without being overwhelming.

Bangus Sofrito.

We also ordered the BBQ Baby Back Ribs and Bangus Sofrito to round out the meal. Even after several meat dishes, we still fully enjoyed the ribs. They were tender, well-seasoned, and satisfying. The Bangus Sofrito provided a nice contrast — crispy, boneless, and easier on the palate if you want something lighter.

To end the night, we had their Apple Crumble Cheesecake. It was creamy, not overly sweet, and tasted homemade rather than commercialized. It had that comforting, home-baked quality that makes dessert feel extra special.

Overall, what started as a simple search for a good dinner spot turned into a genuinely memorable dining experience. Reynaldo’s Smoke House delivers on flavor, quality, and service — all at a value that feels worth it. If you’re heading to Tagaytay and looking for a solid dinner option, this is one place you should definitely consider.

Safe to say, we left full, satisfied, and already planning our next visit. Let’s kaon!
